Expo 2015 Milan
This Universal Exhibition was held around the theme: "Feeding the planet, energy for life". It was then declined in 5 variations: human history, stories of food, abundance and deprivation, which amounts to approaching the paradox of the contemporary world, the future of food, sustainable food and to include the current world as "Fair" as well as taste as "knowledge".
This exhibition helped to give visibility to tradition, creativity and innovation in the food sector and by highlighting in particular the right to healthy, safe and sufficient food for our entire planet.
The objective of this Exhibition was thus to bring the different countries to think about solutions making it possible to counteract the great contradictions of our world, namely that part of the world population suffers from hunger (about 870 million people under- fed in the period 2010-2012) while others suffer from diseases or die from overeating (around 2.8 million deaths linked to obesity or overweight). At the same time, our consumer society has to deal with an astronomical amount of wasted food each year (around 1.3 billion tonnes of food).
The Exhibition was held in Milan for 6 months, from May 1 to October 31, 2015.
