Expo 2017 Astana
Over time, the Universal Exhibitions have become platforms for discussion aimed at finding solutions to global challenges and current issues. The International Specialized Exhibitions are interspersed between two Universal Exhibitions and are dedicated to a specific theme that animates the various Pavilions. The countries participating in the exhibition can thus associate their image and highlight their involvement and their innovations around this challenge.
In 2017, the International Specialized Exhibition was organized on the theme "Energy of the Future", which revolves around three main themes:
- Reduce CO2 emissions
- Live energy efficiency
- Energy for all.
For the different countries, it was about presenting an inventory of energy and highlighting sustainable solutions as well as technological innovations. The choice of this theme was intended to make visitors, current and future generations, reflect on the challenges of energy transformation on the planet. The impact of today's choices on economic and social development will be crucial for the future.
This Exhibition was held in the city of Astana, capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 3 months, from June 10 to September 10, 2017.
Key figures:
- 137 participating countries and international organizations
- More than 4 million visitors
